A look around.
On your terms.
This page describes the steynwave website, including its current private preview.
What this website does
The site serves product information, setup guides and learning documentation. Its navigation, effect illustrations and image viewer run in your browser. It does not access your microphone or process instrument audio.
Your Steynwave account
Creating an account provides your username, email address, password and optional display name. Passwords are stored as secure hashes. We send verification and password reset messages from no-reply@steynwave.com. Signing in uses an essential HttpOnly session cookie; we do not store account session tokens in browser local storage. A temporary HttpOnly signup cookie links email verification to the signup attempt. During signup, the email address and an opaque verification-attempt token are also kept in session storage for that browser tab; they are removed after successful verification.
Your profile photo
A selected photo is resized to 100 × 100 pixels and compressed to WebP in your browser before upload. The server also validates and re-encodes the thumbnail. Profile photos are visible wherever your public profile appears; do not use a private image. Account details and photos are stored on Steynwave’s application infrastructure. Email delivery uses our email provider.
Beta feedback
When you send a review, problem report or feature idea, we store its type, title, message, optional rating, platform and optional app version with your account. Feedback is private: it is available to your signed-in account and Steynwave, and is not published as a public review. You can view your own submissions on the feedback page. Form drafts are kept only in the open page and are not saved in browser storage. Please avoid including passwords or other private account details. Feedback is stored on Steynwave’s application infrastructure; it does not trigger email notifications. Account and feedback data correction or deletion requests can be sent to the address below.
Browser preferences
The website does not set analytics or advertising cookies or use marketing trackers. Documentation, account and feedback pages save your selected language in local browser storage so they can reopen in that language. To return to feedback after account verification or password reset, account pages may also save only the internal feedback path and a 30-minute expiry in local browser storage. This non-secret return hint contains no email, password or token. It is cleared after successful sign-in, or when expired or invalid on a later account visit. Search queries and lab settings are not saved.
Hosting and external services
The hosting provider may process technical request logs and authentication information to deliver and protect the site. A private preview can require the hosting provider’s account access. Following an external link takes you to that service’s own terms and privacy practices.
Desktop apps and future community
This notice covers the website and its accounts. Desktop presets, recordings, local settings and third-party tone downloads are separate. Community discussions and shared presets are coming soon; their data handling will be described before those features launch.
